Who is the advert aimed at?
It’s important to work out in some detail the profile of the target audience. We can then set out a strategy of finding the best channels, the best times of year and times of day to reach that audience most cost effectively.
Then it’s about finding a style of TV ad that will win that audience over. It’s not just about having an advert that’s memorable, it’s more about whether the audience will “respond” and “buy”. A hard sell approach is certainly not always the best way to achieve this with many types of audience.
You can’t unfortunately have an advert that works for everybody. If only! If your market is broad you will have to prioritise the strands of your market that are most important to reach. It can be far more cost efficient to have a different TV advert (normally a variation on a theme) that targets another part of your market via a more appropriate TV channel.
