2020 Developing New Online Golf Media Site
Next month, a major online TV and media hub for golfers will hit the web. Clickongolf.tv brings the very best instructors, players, travel destinations, manufacturers, and business leaders into one community, created by the Channel 2020 team.
Channel 2020 is set to launch an exciting new online TV and magazine website for golfers and the golf industry. Clickongolf.tv will inform, entertain and link golfers up with news, views, features, players, products, fashion, destinations, instruction and retailers. We also want to provide industry news to people who work in golf too.
Built on a track record of success, Clickongolf.tv isn’t the first innovative golf concept that Channel 2020 has created. In 2002, 2020 developed a new style of TV programme with Sky Sports and Golf International magazine. For the first time on Sky Sports, Golf International combined golf entertainment with advertising and live interactive retailing.
The concept was a hit with golfers and Sky Sports. With audiences of around 250,000 per programme, it was very apparent that there was real interest by golfers in TV content that touched every part of the joy of playing golf. The reputation for quality of programmes led 2020 to help the new UK Golf Channel set up in 2004. Before all the US imported material became available, 2020 provided over 50% of the content for the whole channel.
Since then, 2020 and its offshoots Shout and 2020 Golf have worked with over 200 golf clients in producing TV ads, infomercials, promos, websites, DVDs for retail, viral campaigns and TV programmes. With Clickongolf.tv, Channel 2020 has used a decade of experience to create a completely revolutionary new concept. As Rob Potter, CEO of Channel 2020 explains:
“Clickongolf.tv provides what so many golf lovers have been waiting for. Whatever day you look at this site, you’ll find fascinating new TV, features, blogs and reviews. Our aim is to link you up with the best nuggets of entertainment and information that you’ll want to share with fellow golfers.”
It all starts in September 2011. See you then.
